About Me
I am fortunate to live in one of the most unique biospheres in the world, the Texas Hill Country. More and more craft beverage producers are calling this area home too. It is also drying quickly – we have been in a drought for over a year. There are things I want to experience with my children and them with their future children, like floating the river with a cold drink in the dead heat of summer. To do so, we must be creative and resourceful with our fragile karst and aquifer system. It’s important everyone knows how much water it takes to do everyday activities like drinking soda or beer to recreational water activities. I intend to make that my life's work. It may seem overly simple, but this is my why.

FRI is working with six breweries across eight sites and eighty-six acres, five municipalities, five counties, four ecoregions, and five watersheds in the state of Texas to increase their measurable water conservation and stewardship initiatives. Breweries host events to educate the community about the importance of water to brewing, as well as agree to implement a measurable change. Metrics include monetary donations made to water non-profits, such as the Texas Brewshed Alliance, the Watershed Association, and Texas Living Waters, number of operational changes made, water reduction amounts, and water quality improvements made.
